Margaret Rennix serves as an academic coach focusing on the first-year experience. She previously taught as a preceptor in Harvard’s Writing Program for five years. There, she led an engaged scholarship course on U.S. immigration and served as the Curriculum Facilitator for the partnership between the Mindich Program for Engaged Scholarship and the Writing Program. She received a B.A. and M.A. in English literature from the University of Virginia, and an A.M. and Ph.D. in English literature from Harvard. Her dissertation focused on cognition in Victorian literature. She serves on the Board of First-Year Advisors and is a non-resident tutor at Cabot House. She is passionate about making education at Harvard accessible to everyone, and in empowering students to transform themselves and Harvard as an institution
