As a Graduate Academic Coach, Dorothy helps students build habits that improve their academic lives and ensure balance. Common topics include study skills, self-regulation, organization, research, and time management.  While her focus at the ARC is on programming and coaching for PhD and masters students,  she also loves coaching undergrads.

Before finding her dream career as an academic coach, Dorothy practiced as an environmental lawyer and taught legal research and writing. She started coaching in 2005 as a consulting Learning Specialist for Harvard’s Graduate Student Learning Support program, serving students in the Schools of Law, Business, Public Health, Divinity, and Design. She also had a private practice coaching students and lawyers with ADHD.  Dorothy received an ALM in Psychology at Harvard Extension in 2019.  Her key values include kindness, authenticity, learning, and appreciating neurodiversity.  In her free time, she enjoys watching Netflix with her 15-year-old son, playing backgammon with her husband, reading on the couch with her dog, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
