Accountability Hour: Executive Functioning in Action

1414 Massachusetts Avenue, Floor 3R, Room 389

This structured hour provides students with a focused, supportive environment to work independently while reflecting on their learning habits. Each session begins with a brief check-in with the ARC’s Learning Specialist, where students identify one executive functioning skill–such as time management, prioritization, or focus–and consider their current strengths and challenges in that area. After setting an intention for how they want to approach their work, students spend the remaining time engaged in independent work. This Accountability Hour pairs intentional reflection with dedicated work time, helping students build greater self-awareness of their learning processes while making steady academic progress.
