Sam Orsagh-Yentis
Learning Specialist

As the Learning Specialist and an academic coach at the ARC, Sam partners with students who identify as having a mental health illness, learning disability, neurodivergence, or any combination thereof, to build the executive functioning skills they need to find success. Sam provides 1-1 coaching and facilitates groups like SMART Start, a program designed to help incoming first years and returning students acquire vital time management and prioritization skills and find greater focus and motivation in the classroom. Sam approaches each student with care and compassion and is eager to help students identify the unique challenges impacting their work and develop goals and strategies to overcome obstacles.

Sam has served as an academic and executive functioning coach for over 10 years. While at Boston University, Sam worked closely with students on leaves of absence from higher education institutions around the country and provided skills-based teaching and coaching to students navigating a return to college. Outside of university work, Sam has built academic coaching practices and consults with K-12 institutions on dynamic integrations of executive functioning strategies.

Sam holds an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College and is a certified Digital Accessibility Specialist who is passionate about access and representation in education. Beyond the office, Sam loves to travel, play soccer, and compete on her eponymously named trivia team.
