If you are a GSAS student who identifies as neurodiverse or has a diagnosis of ADHD, autism, and/or a learning difference, we invite you to join an ARC academic coaching group for neurodiverse students! In small-group sessions, you’ll engage with peers and an ARC facilitator to explore your academic journey and share strategies for your success.
What to Expect
- Each session will focus on a key area of executive functioning, including time management; self-advocacy; self-regulation; and leveraging strengths.
- Each session will start with a round-robin where group members share current challenges, and end with a round-robin where members will commit to next steps.
- You’ll reflect on your experience and identify your strengths and challenges.
- You’ll set goals to integrate new strategies into your daily and academic life.
- Peers will provide feedback, encouragement, and shared insight along the way.
The Coaching Groups meet for 45 minutes once a week for 6 weeks, with regular attendance required to support a strong and consistent group dynamic. Groups may be in-person or on Zoom. Students who identify as neurodivergent are encouraged to attend; a formal diagnosis is not necessary.
Coaching Groups for Neurodiverse Students are hosted by ARC’s Graduate Student Academic Coach, Dorothy Bisbee, or the ARC’s Learning Specialist, Sam Orsagh-Yentis.
If you’ve ever been challenged to break down assignments, balance your commitments, prioritize your tasks, or maintain focus, a coaching group might be a great fit for you!
Upcoming Groups
Spring semester Coaching Groups for Neurodiverse Students will start in February and run for 6 weeks. Groups will be capped at six students.
